Ming-Chi Kuo, one of the most important analysts in the market and specialized in Apple devices, has just spoken and revealed new information about the 2020 iPhone. According to the analyst Apple plans to reduce and increase the screen of its top-of-the-range iPhone and include 5G technology.
We already know the problems that Apple has had with the 5G due to its legal battle against Qualcomm, however, a few weeks ago both companies reached an agreement that facilitated the use of this technology in the next iPhone. However, these are not all the news that awaits us, we will still have three iPhone models but we will have important changes.
In 2020, important changes will come to the iPhone range
In his report, reflected by the Economic Daily News, Kuo reflects that Apple has to maintain its strategy of launching three iPhone models in three different screen sizes. These sizes would vary significantly since the 2020 iPhone would arrive in screen diagonals of 6.7, 5.4 and 6.1 inches.
The model of 6.1 inches will be the successor of the current iPhone XR, we do not know what it will be called, and will include an OLED screen so Apple will make the final leap to this technology next year. As for 5G connectivity, only the 6.7 and 5.4 inch iPhone will be compatible with this technology.

In short, the 2020 iPhone should look like this according to Ming-Chi Kuo:
- “iPhone XII”: 5.4-inch and 5G OLED screen.
- “iPhone XII Max”: OLED screen of 6.7 inches and 5G.
- “iPhone XIIR”: 6.1-inch OLED screen and LTE.
This is a major change since Apple would reduce the screen size of the normal iPhone, from 5.8 to 5.4 inches, and increase the size of the iPhone Max, which would go from 6.5 to 6.7 inches.
This information affects the 2020 iPhones, not the ones we will see this year. According to rumors, we believe that the 2019 iPhones will look a lot like the current iPhone XS and XR. The biggest change will be on the back of the devices where we will see three cameras on the iPhone XI and two on the new iPhone XR.
