Spotify does not want to be just the favorite choice of millions of users to listen to music but also wants to be that of podcasts. Anyone with a microphone, a smartphone, tablet or computer and something to say can have a podcast.
There are several platforms on which to promote our podcast. Apple Music is one of the favorites, in addition to being the most veteran. But Spotify wants to change this with its latest acquisitions. On the one hand, there is Gimlet Media, a startup related to this radio medium, and on the other hand, there is Anchor which, in addition to serving as hosting for them, provides editing and publishing tools.
The latest novelty of Spotify wants to mix both worlds and make it a personalized experience for each user.

‘Your Daily Drive’, the Spotify list that links music and podcasts
A small group of users is able to test the next big news of the streaming audio platform. The ‘Your Daily Drive’ list will suggest episodes of podcasts that you may like and songs to accompany them.
This new list is designed for users who move daily by car or any other means of transport. It is the result of new algorithms that recommend programs that you think you might like.
Spotify has spoken with The Verge about this novelty with the following statements :
WE ARE ALWAYS TESTING NEW PRODUCTS AND EXPERIENCES, BUT WE HAVE NO NEWS TO SHARE AT THIS TIME.
It is strange because it implies that this list may not be available to all users in the future, or that it is only a test of “a few weeks” and that those who have access to it will no longer have it soon.
Interestingly, ‘Your Daily Drive’ is not being tested in the United States, but in Portugal or Brazil because the recommended podcasts are in Portuguese.
