Motorola One Zoom Is Official Now: Four Cameras, 10x Hybrid Zoom, On Sale

The Motorola One franchise, unlike the Moto G series, is not generational. Each device is developed with a clean slate and is not necessarily intended to replace an existing model. So far this year, Motorola has presented One Vision and One Action. But today the Chicago-based brand has presented its most ambitious device to date: the Motorola One Zoom.

Cameras for every scenario

The unique name of the phone is the impressive zoom system on the back. Motorola uses an 8-megapixel sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS) and a telephoto lens to get solid shots with a 3x zoom. If that wasn’t enough, the smartphone also offers a 10x hybrid zoom function that combines 3x optical zoom with the data of the remaining three cameras to get a higher quality photo at that zoom level.

Speaking of other cameras, the Motorola One Zoom has a 48-megapixel main camera that supports OIS and an f / 1.7 aperture. Use 4-in-1 pixel grouping technology to create larger 12-megapixel shots. It is accompanied by a 5-megapixel depth sensor and a 16-megapixel snapper along with an ultra-wide-angle lens offering a 117 ° field of view. The complete camera setup is Motorola’s night vision mode, which improves low light photography and a dedicated portrait mode. In addition, there is a 25-megapixel camera for selfies that also uses pixel grouping to offer better light sensitivity in all scenarios.

The four rear cameras of the Motorola One Zoom are arranged in a square facing the top of an elongated module. This also houses the famous Motorola bat logo which now lights up and replaces the notification LED which is usually presented in advance.

Notched screen, Snapdragon processor, lots of space

The rotation of the Motorola One Zoom reveals a 6.4-inch Max Vision OLED screen (19: 9). The panel offers an impressive 85% screen/body ratio thanks to the previous “U-notch” and a Full-HD + resolution (2340 x 1080p). It is also combined with an on-screen fingerprint scanner and some fairly decent internal parts.

Like the Moto Z4 from Motorola, launched in June, One Zoom works with Qualcomm Snapdragon 675. This is accompanied by 4 GB of decent RAM and 128 GB of expandable internal memory, in addition to a large 4,000 mAh battery that supports fast charging 15 W through the power brick included.

Finally, Motorola One Zoom will be sent with the company’s customized Android 9 Pie software directly with the Moto Action, Moto Display, and Google Assistant functions. Motorola promises an update of Android 10 but does not guarantee the second update of Android 11 once available. Furthermore, the company failed to comply with a timeline for security patches.

Other features include a USB-C port, a speaker at the top of the phone, a 3.5mm headphone jack. Along with with a 4G LTE connectivity, and dual SIM support.
