Ming-Chi Kuo is back with his (almost always) predictions, this time focusing on the iPhones that will be launched in 2020.
The TF International Securities analyst said today in a note to investors that Apple would be planning for next year new models of 5.4 and 6.7 inches, both with 5G connectivity, and a 6.1-inch with 4G (LTE). All of them would have OLED screens.
Basically, we are talking about probably there models that will come after successors of iPhones XS, XS Max and XR, which will be released this year. That is, Apple in 2020 can tweak the sizes of its flagship models, making the variation between them much more significant (the current ones are 5.8 and 6.5 inches, worth remembering).
It is natural to imagine that the future device that will take the place of the current XR is not equipped with 5G, but it would finally gain an OLED screen – one of the main differentials between the current lines.
The forecast that Apple will adopt 5G technology next year is fully within the industry expectation, especially after the agreement signed in mid-April with Qualcomm. Also according to Kuo, the design of a modem of the Apple is now expected to be completed only in 2022 or 2023.
