Since Apple introduced macOS Catalina at WWDC 2019, there have been many developers who have been encouraged to try the beta to discover all its novelties.
In fact, there are even some developers who have gone a step further and have delved into the ins and outs of the system to find out what Apple is working on. That is the case of Steve Troughton-Smith, who reveals to us that the company of the bitten apple is working on new versions of Messages and Shortcuts for Mac of the Project Catalyst.
The hidden features in the macOS system Catalina
The Project Catalyst software in macOS Catalina shows how Apple is working on incorporating Siri shortcuts and iMessage chat effects. Two fabulous news that could come in future updates of the operating system for Mac.

“THERE’S A LOT OF EVIDENCE IN CATALINA THAT THEY’RE WORKING ON A COMPLETE CATALYST VERSION OF MESSAGES, LIKE SHORTCUTS FOR MAC. SO, LIKE SHORTCUTS, I’VE DECIDED TO SHORTEN THE CHASE AND DO IT MYSELF USING THE SYSTEM FRAMEWORKS. VOILÀ. “
And, just for reference: this isn’t a ‘marzipanified’ version of the Messages app from the iOS Simulator. This is the ‘native’ Catalyst UI coming from the macOS 10.15 system frameworks. Just like Shortcuts, it’s all there, and mostly works if you know how to talk to it pic.twitter.com/VO59kPbbVY
