iOS 13 is the beginning of the end of 3D Touch

Over the past few years, there has been a rumor about the possibility that Apple will put aside the 3D Touch functionality on their iPhone.

Well, this rumor could become a reality with the arrival of the new iPhone line of 2019. And, in principle, iOS 13 seems to confirm it.

As you know, the beta versions of iOS 13 and iPadOS are already available for download, and indeed 3D Touch gestures are not present in the renewed software of the mobile operating system.

iOS 3D Touch

What will happen with the 3D Touch functions in iOS 13?

But the disappearance of the 3D Touch function brings good news. From now on all devices will be compatible with the characteristics of this function. That is, the same 3D Touch shortcuts and their pressure modes on the “Peek” and “Pop” screen are now available on iOS 13 by keeping the finger pressed on the screen.

However, models compatible with 3D Touch such as iPhone 6s, iPhone 7, iPhone 8, etc., will lose functionality in iOS 13 despite having hardware prepared for it.

The new tactile gesture for 3D Touch functions is available on all iPhone, iPad and seventh generation iPod touch models.

By keeping your finger pressed on the icon of an app, a link, an image, etc., iOS 13 users will have the possibility to access a new interface for previewing content, shortcuts, and menus.

On the other hand, on the iPad, with iPadOS, keeping the finger pressed on the screen also activates the Drag and Drop mode, so it can be confusing. But surely Apple will work on it to perfect this novelty of iOS 13 and iPadOS
