It seems a dream come true, to be able to interact with the Touch Bar of the MacBook Pro on the iPad keyboard. Well, soon it could be possible.
Apple must be planning a system to implement Touch Touch Bar in the Magic Keyboard. That suggests a new patent of the recently registered company.
In addition, the patent also indicates that Apple could bring the face recognition feature Face ID to the Mac. A technology that has spread between iPhone and iPad and thanks to its reliability could now reach the rest of the products of the Cupertino firm.
How the system would work
The patent describes how a Mac in idle mode could use its camera to search for faces. This function could be added to Power Nap, in which a Mac could be able to perform some activities in the background without using much energy.
After detecting a face, I would use facial recognition to activate the Mac if the user is correctly identified.
On the other hand, the patent states that Face ID would use a retinal scanner instead of a three-dimensional one-sided mapping. This type of technology is used in highly advanced security systems.
“DEVICES WITH THE TOUCH BAR COULD ALSO USE A BIOMETRIC SENSOR THAT IS A FACE DETECTION SENSOR.”
This patent could suggest that Apple is looking for new development paths to improve the existing technology in Face ID. But, as always, we can not know if Apple will carry out this idea in the hardware of future devices. But in the patent, we see an individual keyboard with a Touch Bar, which could be a wonderful implementation for the Magic Keyboard of the signature of the bitten apple.
