EMUI 9, the latest version of Huawei’s customization layer, will hit new devices in the coming weeks. Since the Chinese firm decided to take the leap from EMUI 5 to EMUI 8 in 2017, the fork of Huawei has followed the numbering of the Android versions.
As you can imagine, the EMUI renewal is based on Android 9 Pie and brings many new features. If your smartphone is among the lucky ones, you will soon see the update package coming via OTA.

EMUI 9.0 and 9.1 will reach these devices
Huawei recently announced that the EMUI 9.1 beta was already available for its Mate 20. Now we have learned that new devices will make the jump to Android Pie from this week. These are the chosen ones:
- → Honor 7X
- → Huawei Enjoy 7S
- → Huawei Enjoy 8 Plus
- → Huawei Enjoy 9 Plus
- → Honor 9i
- → Honor 9 Youth Edition
In this selection, we find both Huawei and Honor terminals, some of them quite modest. The Chinese firm does not leave out the cheaper models, which is to be welcomed. It must be said that we will not be able to add the Honor 8 Pro to the updated list since EMUI 9 is being tested in some Indian devices.
Huawei’s new fork brings with it a general redesign of the system’s applications, the implementation of the gesture navigation system, performance improvements and functionalities such as Bienestar Digital, which helps us to be aware of the use we give to our device.
