Disable Headphone Jack Plugged In: Recently I started using the budget gaming laptop by Asus, TUF Gaming FX505DY. However, it has its pros and cons but there is one thing that is common in windows computers r PCs. That irritating popup that appears every time you plug in your headphones to the 3.5mm jack. Also, Asus has no exception and in this guide, we’ll disable the “headphone jack plugged in” popup. Let’s start.
Most Windows PCs have an audio application that manages the sound, devices, and playback. Also, though Windows can natively do that OEMs add this bloat as a personal touch in the name of quality. Note that Asus has a Realtek Audio Console that does this. Also, it routes the audio to headphones when you plug in headphones.
Disable “Headphone Jack Inserted” Popup
Hit the Start button and look for Realtek Audio Console in the Start Menu. Also, choose Device Advanced Settings from the bottom left of the newly opened window.
Toggle the switch off next to “ Enable Jack Detection when a device is plugged in”. Next, tap the radio button next to “mute the internal output device, when an external device is plugged in”.
It ensures that the console doesn’t automatically popup. But the audio is still routed to the headphones. However, you would still get regular notifications that you’ve plugged in your headphones. If you want a full distraction-free experience with no notifications. Also, just disable the notifications permission for the Realtek Console.
To disable the notifications, head over to the Start menu and tap Settings to open the Settings page. Tap ‘System’.
Under System Settings, find Notifications & actions tap to reveal its choices. Now scroll the apps’ list on the right pane and disable the toggle switch next to Realtek Audio Console.
Now, you can’t get any more notifications or popups whenever you plug in your headphones next time.
Conclusion:
This was the fastest way to disable the irritating popups and notifications that appear every time whenever you plug in a pair of headphones. I never mind getting a notification but these OEMs should find a way to check if I’m plugging in the latest pair of headphones every time. Also, not or only display a notification when the PC doesn’t recognize the headphones. Some Dell laptops can already do that so I know that it’s not impossible.
