The only difference is that OneNote for the desktop is not a free app and it does not really come with your Windows installation.

For Microsoft to get ahead, it will have to improve the feature exponentially as well. It is, if nothing else, a really useful feature that has also made me abandon my default screenshot app as well. The area it can improve in, to outdo Apple, is here to add cursor capture. At present, neither Windows 10 nor macOS actually capture the mouse cursor in a screenshot.
Windows 10 users who want to show the cursor in a screenshot will still have to use a third-party tool actually. Microsoft is now taking baby steps but this isn’t a really complicated feature and it can afford to take larger strides.
