Without a doubt, Google is the most used Internet search engine today, because, in the end, it is the one that has achieved the most fame and the one that is present in more devices. Now, as far as privacy is concerned, it may not be the most recommended engine, taking into account all the information it collects from its users and the problems it has previously had.
As an alternative, today there are other additional search engines such as DuckDuckGo, one of the most used as an alternative to Google, and from Apple they allow today to select as default so that when you do searches through Safari they are made using this search engine and not another, as we will show you.
Use DuckDuckGo as a search engine for Safari on iOS
If you wish, you have the option to configure another search engine for Safari that does not have to be Google, taking into account that there are more options available, although DuckDuckGo is usually the most recommended if you focus on the issue of privacy. In this way, if you have an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch you can configure it so that by default the searches are performed from this search engine.
To do this, you must first access the iOS settings or settings application and then, in the main menu, choose the Safari option. Then, another menu with options will appear, in which you must select “Search Engine” and, when you do, you will see how different options appear in order for you to choose your favorite, including DuckDuckGo.
Once you have done so, the next time you decide to perform a search from Safari with the search engine integrated at the top, the search entered in question will be done through DuckDuckGo, so that at first your data will be more secure than if you use more generic search engines like Google or Bing.
