Apple may be planning to reuse its classic rainbow Apple logo on some of its new products later this year. A news bomb that just gave our MacRumors partners that count as a source to an Apple employee in Cupertino, which of course remain anonymous.
The Apple logo has changed a lot since the first one in which Newton appeared and now the company could use its rainbow apple again. According to the information at the moment it is not known what devices could be included although their sources point to the Mac as a candidate, although it is not ruled out that there are special versions of the iPhone and iPad with the classic logo.
The rainbow apple could return
The information and MacRumors are quite clear about it and although its sources indicate that Apple is thinking about reusing its rainbow logo the information could be false:
“This rumor could be false. We have chosen to share it because it comes from an informant who has connections with Apple, but no other source has shared similar information that we know. And, even if it’s true, the plans could certainly change .”
Apple’s rainbow apple with six colors appeared for the first time in the Apple II and was used until 1998 when it began to be phased out in favor of a monochromatic logo similar to the one used today. This means that Apple has not used this logo for more than 20 years.

Recall also that recently Apple used these same colors on the stage where Lady Gaga gave a concert at the Appel Park a few months ago. We have even seen versions of this logo at the opening of the Passeig de Gràcia store in Barcelona. This could be a clue that Apple is still thinking about these colors, or not end up meaning anything. MacRumors has decided to report this by those who will have enough confidence that the information is real.
