83% of teenagers in the US have an iPhone

The market share of current smartphones is practically divided between two, on the one hand, we have the iPhone and on the other the Android devices. In countries like the United States, more or less half of the market is distributed each, but now we know that in the case of teenagers the preference for the iPhone is much higher.

According to a recent survey, 83% of teenagers in the United States have an iPhone as a device instead of an Android. This is a record for Apple that can make the future, at least in the US, much better for the Cupertino company.

The survey has been prepared by the investment bank Piper Jaffray, MacRumors has given us several details, to find the smartphones used by American teenagers in the spring of 2019. The survey has involved more than 8,000 students of which approximately 54 % were men and 46% women with an average age of 16.3 years. The result has been that 83% of them have an iPhone.

In addition to this record result for Apple, the survey also reveals that 86% of these teenagers expect their next smartphone to be an iPhone. One of the key aspects of this preference seems to be Apple’s ecosystem, adolescents are used to services such as iMessage or Apple Music, which has already outperformed Spotify in the country, and those of the company as accessories such as AirPods and Apple Watch.

Precisely about the Apple Watch students were also asked and the survey reveals that 27% of teenagers in the United States have a smartwatch, 22 percent of respondents plan to buy an Apple Watch within the next six months.

It seems that the future is assured for Apple and the arrival of new services will only improve these prospects, at least in the US Apple has everything under control.
